Cannes, France is a truly magical place to visit. The clear but cold sea is a sight to behold, with an abundance of yachts sailing around the coast. One of my highlights of the Cannes trip was the chance to lay on the white sand beach, overlooking the French alps while being served delicious cocktails from a gourmet beachside restaurant. It was reminiscent of a scene from a movie or book. It is worth noting though, there are public beaches and there are private beaches. Obviously, if you have a few extra dollars, the private beach is the way to go. The great news is that regardless of which beach you go to, the views are just as stunning.
But it’s not just the beaches that make Cannes special. There are plenty of places to dine, shop, and enjoy the nightlife. The city is bustling with energy and there’s always something happening. Whether it’s a fancy restaurant or a casual beachside bar, you’ll never be short of options for a great meal or a fun night out.
Although many French citizens speak English, it is highly recommended that you make an attempt to learn some basic French. Not only will it help you communicate with locals, but it’s also a great way to immerse yourself in the culture and make the most of your visit.
